Twickenham, sometimes known as the “Cabbage Patch” because that is what it was used for before, is the home of the English Rugby Union team.
Today the stadium has a capacity of 82,000 spectators and is the largest dedicated rugby union venue in the world, but when England played Wales on 15th January 1909 maximum capacity was 20,000 spectators.
The first match was on 2nd October 1909 when Harlequins played Richmond.
